Clare is currently studying for a degree in Fine Art at the University of Reading and will graduate in June 2009.

Her work is of a contemporary style using bright colours in an expressive way to trigger an emotional response to a sensory experience. Clare's works are process based and some are textured but all work with the energy of colour, movement and gesture. Clare's uses oil, acrylic and encaustic wax to create in some ways an ethereal effect in her work.

Inspiration comes from nature, a snapshoot of a moment in time, a memory of an event or feelings that occupy a space between a personal and a collective experience. In recent works Clare has used graphical and geometric elements inspired by the perspective from architectural images and breaks down the image by applying thinned oils and acrylic in a layering effect. Then eventually the colours and abstraction takes over from representation.
